Range Levels is a session-based trading tool that tracks how price moves within daily or intraday ranges.
It defines a time window, measures the high and low of that period, and uses those levels as a base for entries and exits
The goal is to trade around clear structure instead of relying on fixed indicators.
During each session, the tool records the highest and lowest prices between the selected start and end times.
Once the session closes, those levels stay fixed. From there, trades can be taken when price bounces from the edge, breaks through the range, or returns back inside after a failed breakout.
Description
There are four entry modes that define how trades are triggered:
- Bounce Limit places orders at the edges, expecting price to reject them.
- Bounce Stop Market waits for confirmation before entering.
- Breakout Stop Market enters as price breaks through the range.
- Breakout Limit joins after a pullback once the breakout is confirmed.
You can shift entry placement slightly using the offset percentage to make it more or less aggressive.
Stops and targets are set as percentages of the session range, so they automatically adjust when volatility changes.
A breakeven rule can move the stop to entry once price reaches a certain distance, helping protect profits without manual intervention.
Several filters let you control when trades are allowed:
- Direction filters can follow or go against the previous session’s direction.
- Range filters limit trading to sessions that are not too narrow or too wide.
- The start position filter looks at where the market opens within the range.
- Skip Signals can ignore the first level touch or breakout to reduce false entries.
- You can also limit the number of trades per session and decide if all trades should close when the session ends.
- Session settings allow you to pick which days to trade and define the start and end times.
- You can also extend trading beyond the set window to include after-hours moves.
- This helps study and trade market behavior across different sessions such as US, European, or Asian hours.

Is the strategy pre-optimized?
No. It is not pre-optimized. Range Levels is a configurable framework that gives you full control over how it behaves. You can adjust sessions, entries, filters, and exits to match your own trading approach. We provide example tests as proof of concept, but those were created under specific conditions and should not be considered universal results.
What markets can this strategy be applied to?
It can be applied to any market available in TWM. The strategy is price- and time-based, so it adapts well to different instruments.
Is any programming knowledge required?
No. All settings are managed directly through TWM’s interface. There is no need for coding or technical setup.
Which timeframes are most suitable for this strategy?
It is typically used on intraday timeframes, from 1 to 15 minutes. You can also test higher timeframes if you want to study how session ranges behave over longer periods.
Can this strategy trade across multiple sessions in one day?
Not directly. The strategy supports one active session per day, but you can freely adjust the start and end times to cover any period, such as the European, US , or Asian session.
How are stop and target values determined in this strategy?
Stops and targets are calculated as percentages of the defined session range. This means they automatically adapt to volatility and range size without needing to change fixed tick values.
What is the purpose of the “Skip Signals” option?
Skip Signals tells the strategy to ignore the first touch or breakout of a level. This helps avoid false signals that often occur on the first test of support or resistance.
How do I control the number of trades the strategy takes?
Use the MaxTradesAmount parameter to set how many trades can occur within a single session. Once the limit is reached, no more trades will be taken until the next session starts.
Will the strategy automatically close open trades at session end?
Yes, if you enable the CloseAtEndOfTradingPeriod option. When active, all open trades are automatically closed at the end of the defined session.
Is this strategy designed to generate automatic profits?
No. Range Levels is not an automated profit tool. It’s a structured framework for research and strategy building. Its value comes from testing, adjusting, and finding your own trading edge based on session behavior.
