HTX is a centralized cryptocurrency exchange (CEX) founded in 2013 by Leon Li, a former Oracle engineer. HTX works as an ecosystem of blockchain businesses that span digital asset trading, financial derivatives, wallets, research, investments, incubation, and other businesses [7].

The company was formerly known as Huobi and originally was based in Beijing, now its headquarters are in the Seychelles. In September 2023, the company went through a rebranding and changed its name to HTX (H for Huobi (the original name), T for Tron (a major partner), and X for Exchange) [1][3]. The choice to change the name was made to mark the 10th anniversary and to reflect its commitment to a broader Web3 ecosystem and global expansion [1]. HTX’s vision is to “Achieve Financial Freedom for 8 Billion People on Earth.” As a world-leading gateway to Web3, HTX follows a growth strategy built on four pillars: “Global Expansion, Thriving Ecosystem, Wealth Effect, Security & Compliance.” This framework reflects the platform’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality services and long-term value to virtual asset enthusiasts across the globe.

The platform operates globally, serving over 47 million users across over 160 countries, with a strong presence in Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. The platform offers access to over 700 cryptocurrencies and more than 1,000 trading pairs, making it one of the most diversified exchanges in terms of asset availability [2][7].

HTX supports a wide range of trading services, including spot trading, margin trading with leverage up to 5x, and derivatives with leverage up to 200x. Its derivatives markets are primarily focused on perpetual contracts settled in USDT or crypto collateral. The platform is designed to cater to both professional traders and retail users, with real-time charting, a highperformance matching engine, and 24/7 global customer support [2].

In recent years, HTX has expanded into a broader ecosystem of crypto finance tools. Users can access:

  • Spot and Margin Trading
  • Derivatives Markets (perpetual contracts, futures with up to 200x leverage) [2]
  • HTX Earn, a passive income hub offering staking, fixed and flexible savings, dual investment, and structured products
  • HTX Wallet, a secure digital wallet for storing and managing crypto assets
  • Copy Trading, allowing users to automatically replicate strategies from top trader
